Welcome to Focus Taekwon-do

Focus Taekwon-do is a family based Taekwon-do School that focuses on safe, fun, effective martial art training and self defense. At Focus Taekwon-do we pride ourselves in maintaining the original teachings of General Choi Hong Hi, creator of Taekwon-do in 1955.

Our mission at Focus Taekwon-do is to offer students of all ages and fitness levels an environment to focus on family while having fun, meeting new people, improving fitness, and learning very useful self defense and martial art skills. At Focus Taekwon-do, family is very important to us which is why we have designed our program to accommodate ages 4-94. Our very skilled Shadow Warrior instructors gently and safely guide the younger children (ages 4-9) through a very fun class where they will learn self respect, self discipline, and the importance of staying fit; along with possible life saving self defense methods. Our very experienced and proficient adult class instructors teach students age 10-94 at the same time and location for family convenience where they will also learn very valuable self defense skills while improving fitness levels and improve confidence.

Miss Aimee Maund, Head Instructor for Focus Taekwon-do, has been training and teaching Taekwon-do out of the Chestermere Recreation Center under her instructor since 1994, and in 2004 she was honorably selected to take over the school where she has continued to encourage family growth, fitness, and self confidence. Focus Taekwon-do has developed a very respectable reputation for maintaining and demonstrating the tenants of Taekwon-do; courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self control, and indomitable spirit.

Focus Taekwon-do is unique in that we offer students the opportunity to choose the depth of their training and progression; whether you are looking for a fun way to improve fitness with your family, or you have the desire to become a world champion and travel the world in competition, our very accomplished instructors can lead you to your goals.
